AA&MDSIF: Peer Support Network
The AA&MDSIF Peer Support Network is composed of volunteer patients and family members. Participants can talk to other families about their treatment experiences and thr emotional aspects of coping with MDS, aplastic anemia, and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). By joining the peer support network, individuals can help others to gather information, resolve special issues, receive emotional support, and make friends.

The AAMAC has four provincial chapters: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Atlantic. Volunteers can support these chapters by donating blood and platelets for transfusions, signing up with the OneMatch network, and making monetary donations. This association supports fundraisers and merchandise, including raise awareness “LifeBlood” bracelets that can be purchased on their Web site.

Leukaemia Research is the only charity in the UK dedicated exclusively to world class research. Medical professionals generously give their time to advise what research the organization should fund, and celebrities make room in busy schedules to help. Volunteers can assist by joining a local fundraising group, starting their own branch, becoming an event volunteer, or aiding at the head office.
